Marquette Offers New Inexpensive Classes for Girls (Gr. 1-8) Interested in Math, Science, or Engineering
I'm on the Marquette University Engineering Department mailing list. One of their emails recently caught my attention. It's an engineering class specifically for girls. I don't have any daughters. However, if I did, I would certainly encourage them to take this class.
KISS FM Anti-Bullying Campaign - Win a Private Concert - The Wanted - for Cudahy High School
Here is a great contest. KISS FM is holding an anti-bullying campaign. If you go to the KISS FM Contest web site and join the anti-bully pledge campaign (nothing more than clicking a button saying that you are against bullying), then you can enter your school district in the contest.
Text the Cudahy keyword CDCD to 71037 to vote. The school district with the most votes gets a concert at their high school. Text as many times as you want - of course keeping in mind your cell phone plan!
Red Oak Young Writers - Area Writing Programs for Kids
I'd like to plug an area program that I don't think a lot of people in this area know about, even though it's located right down the street at the Marion Center in Bay View.
Area Child Care Providers and their Compliance Ratings
I posted something like this several years ago - and thought it might be a good idea to do it again. Here is a web site that provides compliance and rating histories of the child care providers in this area.
Wisconsin's Licensed Child Care Search. This web site is very important to know about if you are using or plan to use the child care resources in this area.
For simplicity, I've included direct links to some of the local day cares and their history. Like I said when I first posted this information years ago, it's about time this type of information was made public.
